The issue wasn't WANTING to sign Foles. The issue was paying a band-aid 22m per season. Especially when nobody else was competing for his service.

You trade Foles and a pick not for the 2020 season, but for 2021.  With the money you save off the 2021 cap, you can be active in free agency.  More importantly, it saves Khan a good chunk of money and given his financial difficulties, it makes perfect sense.

Trading his this year means yet another season of an 18M hit with nothing to show for it, AND you still have to replace the player. Are you suggesting we roll with Shew and Dobbs?
