He isnt a bad person but anyone turning down good money, better yet, millions of dollars more than their worth, in hopes you can grown and get better for location preferences is dumb.  Unless you are treated poorly, racism, or slapped in the face or other utterly disrespectful things then you are dumb.  i could care less if he was a priest or yoga insructor, being stupid doesnt make you a bad person, it just means your stupid.

Alas, you can always take solace in this. 

Also - this isn't merely "location preference" if it's even that at all. 
It's moving from a dysfunctional team to one he may have more faith in operating successfully.
