I think the problem with people is unwillingness to understand hearing loss. That is sad because because there are about as many people with hearing problems as left-handed people (10 percent) so hundreds of millions around the world are affected by it. I read somewhere 50 million Americans are hard of hearing or deaf. That means a very small percentage of hearing impaired or deaf boys play football at regular schools and Derrick Coleman was very lucky to get a chance to do it.
