There's nothing wrong with that opinion; I'm just arguing with your rule that unless you have an established franchise QB on your roster, you should spend a high draft pick on another QB.  Suppose we draft Tua.  After one year, do we know that we have an established franchise QB on our roster?  There's no way to know that after one year.  So then if we follow your rule, we would draft another one the following year.  Lather, rinse, repeat.  When do you stop and allow your young QB to develop, by supporting him and building a team around him?  

Again, if you think GM is not the guy and Tua would be, there's nothing wrong with that opinion.  It's the rule you made that I'm arguing with.

I don't recall making a "rule". I am simply stating my opinion that if you are not 100% (or close) sure you have a franchise QB that your drafting objective should be to get one if you have the chance. We have had several chances that could have changed this franchise. Unfortunately, we blew it! Is Tua a sure thing? Of course not, but he certainly has a body of work that says he very well could be.
