There are 12-13% of head coaches that are black, right? I see that 13% number thrown around to justify the black head coach hires. The reality is that only 4% of the American population is black males. White males make up approximately 37% of the American population. That works out to somewhere around 75% of the male population being white. Alternatively, black males only make up about 8% of the male population.

 

The only races under-represented are Asians (East Asian and South Asian) and Hispanic. But even then, many Hispanics identify with the "white" label anyway. I haven't seen you push for them. 

 

I see an issue of hiring qualified candidates. Period. There is such a high turnover rate with head coaches nowadays that it doesn't seem like it's as easy as you make it out to be. 

 

I'll stick to hiring the most qualified candidate, and you can stick to having "diversity".
