I always thought he was a hindrance to the offense, mainly because the team always seemed to game plan around him being a feature running back. And quite frankly, he wasn't good enough for that. Before the last game of the season last year, I remember thinking it was good Fournette was out, that they would have to lean on Minshew instead. Gardner ended up having a fantastic day. That could have been pure coincidence, but I have my doubts. In my mind, Fournette forever tied us to that three yards and a cloud of dust offense everyone seems to hate.
So really, I like this move. It's Minshew's offense now, not Fournette's. |
