He said he quit cause team changed owners,plus he knew the new owner was going to fire him. He felt quiting would be better for him cause he didn't want to get fired. 

he had a loseing record with bills he was 15-17 as well. doug is nothing but a quiter,and loser,and now he has the jags quiting.  I am sure yan would still be here as well as campel,no one wants to play for a loser HC that knows better. the ones playign now are to young to understand doug is a loser. he shouldn't of never been hired.

He left because he specifically stated when hired he didn't want to work for a different owner and had an out in his contract to leave if that happened. He got the Bills to a winning season, they changed owners, so he took advantage of his contractual out to leave Buffalo while still getting paid $4m. 

I don't blame him one bit for taking advantage of something he specifically had put into his contract when hired. He didn't "quit" on Buffalo, though many don't see that. I live in Western NY and people hate him, not so much for while he was there, but they're bitter he got them to a winning season and then left and they sucked for a whole again.
