The Message from the Voters

But this wasn't a case of Trump under performing Down Ballot tickets. This was a situation of down ballot candidates coming in DRAMATICALLY lower than Biden in some instances. There were millions of votes that just had Biden selected and no interest in down ballot races. Now, I break with some on the right who think this indicates wrong doing. It certainly indicates that there is a cross section of the Democrat Electorate that is only interested in the presidency. That detracts a little from your overall thesis that the country consciously chose moderation. Are you saying people who voted mail-in are lazy, just because they wanted to stay out of the crowds of people in election lines, coughing all over one another during a pandemic? Not to mention the freezing cold weather, (we can't all live in nice, warm places like Florida.) If so, that is very obtuse. I know just as many people here in Ohio who mail-in voted for Trump, than I do people who voted for Biden. Choosing to do things the "common sense" way, doesn't make people lazy, it makes them intelligent. If someone gives you an easier way to do things without penalty and you turn it down, that doesn't make you diligent, it makes you stubborn and hard-headed. Neither party's agenda is appealing to me. I like some ideas from one party and some ideas from another. I believe deep down, most Americans feel the same way, but they keep voting extremists from both parties, because they think they have no other choice. |
