First let's start with the coaching staff and this is Who David Garrard has as coaches.  Jack Del Rio, Anthony Lynn, Dirk koetter, David Shula, and Mike Smith which all of them became head coaches. Blake Bortles on the other hand did not have 1 assistant coach or coordinator during his tenure that became a head coach or even a successful coordinator elsewhere.

Let's go to roster while they also had a great defense with Henderson, Stroud, Mathis, Mike Peterson and Daryl Smith. All of them by the way was perennial Pro Bowlers. Now was the 2017 defense was better yes because that was a all-time great defense and one of the best defenses in NFL history and the best defense in Jaguar history. So Blake had that going for him but David Garrard had a better offensive line, running back, tight end. The only thing Blake Bortles have better than that Garrard was the wide receivers and that's not by much but despite that Blake Bortles put up better numbers and had more important wins in his tenure then David Garrard. Is true  that David Garrard was more consistent than Blake Bortles yes but he also had a better coaches and as a result, got the best out of him. If Blake had David coaching staff he would still be our quarterback for the Jaguar franchise to this day.

You have to be kidding. Garrard was absolutely better than Bortles. Way more accurate, way more reliable. Garrard was the only QB we had in the last 10 years who I felt like we had a chance on 3rd down consistently. Bortles was the product of the strong team around him in 2017. If Garrard had that team we wouldn’t have been kneeling to end the half.

In all due respect, go back and look at David Garrard completion percentage which was very similar to Blake and David Garrard route tree was very limited. Go back and look at David Garrard film he threw a lot of Slants, 5 yard button hooks, and occasionally a seam route. He fed off the running game and was a perfect game manager but I never asked David Garrard to go out and win games for the team.

Also, do not blame Blake Bortles 4 Doug Marrone cowardness in the AFC Championship game. Doug Marrone sat on his Laurel instead of trusting his quarterback to make the plays like he did in the previous week versus the Pittsburgh Steelers. Is a reason why that Doug Marrone is going to be fired at the end of this year because he's not a good coach at all
