Khan's made the decision and is looking, like he said he'd already made the decision when he fired Coughlin. Chicken [BLEEP] move of him to not just tell Marrone that it was over. What does he have to gain by stringing him along? If Marrone's reaction after seeing Rapoport's sources was to "prep his family", that suggests that Rapoport has some very good sources and Khan just straight-up lied to Marrone about it.

I'm pretty sure he meant it allowed him to prep his family for the report coming out.  He mentioned how difficult it was for his family last year when the rumors of him being fired started and that it's always difficult for the families of coaches of players any time there's controversy, so he appreciated the opportunity to get in front of it.

I'm pretty sure he knows the writing is on the wall, but he clearly still has a schedule to keep tomorrow before he meets with Shad.  I'm not sure why Shad would lie about there being no legs to the Urban rumor.
