Pederson checks way too many boxes for him to be anything other than the highest choice at this point.

5.  He knows how to utilize the TE in the offense.  Our Jaguars have never really had anything close to a dominant receiving threat at TE in our history.

Even if you blame the Eagles subsequent collapse entirely on him (from what I've read, there is plenty of blame to go around), his tenure with the Eagles exceeds every coach here.  If he were to replicate his tenure here in its entirety, I'd take it because we'd win a Super Bowl.  But if we protect Lawrence, better, we get more from him than the Eagles got from Wentz.  Lurie's own words"  "Pederson did not deserve to be fired."

Pederson's availability changes everything.

Bullseye, all of what you mentioned are good points.  I think that GM Howie Roseman is much more responsible for the Eagles last place NFC East finish than Pederson.

Even with all of this factored in, I think the Jaguars ( and the other teams with a HC opening ) would be making a huge mistake by hiring Pederson this this winter. The baggage Pederson would bring appears to be substantially greater than the benefits. Here's why I believe this is the case:

Players with one team often communicate with players from another team. Agents relay info about other the climate on other teams as well.  A high % of the Eagles locker room are very disturbed by Pederson benching Jalen Hurts in the 4th QTR of a winnable game that they trailed only by 3 points.  The Eagles were depleted with injuries for the season finale. Yet, they played with passion and purpose.  Pederson put in a journeyman QB who was overmatched.  This on top if not going to Hurts sooner as the starter when Carson Wentz repeatedly made costly mistakes.  Trust has been lost.

Even taking all of that at face value...even if you assume he mismanaged the QB position this year, it pales in comparison to his superlative management of the same position on the same team the year before.  None of that negates his qualifications for this position for the future.

At the end of the day, he's still versed in the Andy Reid system, that has proven successful in Philadelphia and KC.  He was the one responsible for developing Wentz in the first place.  Wouldn't he be best equipped to make decisions based upon Wentz' lack of development?

He has proven able to develop QBs.

He has won a Super Bowl.

If anyone deserves the benefit of the doubts here, Pederson has.
