In a rare instance, I strongly disagree with you, D6.

Pederson checks way too many boxes for him to be anything other than the highest choice at this point.

1.  He has had proven, recent NFL success.  He won the freaking Super Bowl for the 2017 season.  Newsflash:  That is the main thing missing from the Jaguars.

2.  He is an offensive guy.  Everyone says they want an offensive guy here.  He is from the Andy Reid coaching tree.He played QB under Reid.

3.  He has a proven recent history of developing QBs.  He developed Carson Wentz into an MVP candidate in 2017.  He got a Super Bowl title out of Nick Foles.

4.  He knows he needs a strong defensive coordinator.  He hired Jim Schwartz when he was with the Eagles in the first place.  With Schwartz sitting out this year, he knows he will need a strong defensive mind to make the team balanced.
5.  He knows how to utilize the TE in the offense.  Our Jaguars have never really had anything close to a dominant receiving threat at TE in our history.

Even if you blame the Eagles subsequent collapse entirely on him (from what I've read, there is plenty of blame to go around), his tenure with the Eagles exceeds every coach here.  If he were to replicate his tenure here in its entirety, I'd take it because we'd win a Super Bowl.  But if we protect Lawrence, better, we get more from him than the Eagles got from Wentz.  Lurie's own words"  "Pederson did not deserve to be fired."

Pederson's availability changes everything.

I think the biggest argument against is what the team did once Reich left. Wentz, albeit coming back from injury, regressed, and ended up in a very public standoff between he and his coach. Add to that his DC is not an option to follow along.

Whether justified or not, the court of public opinion plays a factor here, too. If players thought he tanked, benched players without merit, or just projected as abrasive, that's going to hinder your ability to draw free agents. He'll be a head coach again, but I think he needs a cooling off period to let some of this dust settle. He'll probably get a job as a coordinator for a while, and if he regains favor with the players he coaches, he'll be in the running then.

TC scarred me, ain't no way in Hades I even have him under consideration.

What am I missing here? Pedersen was there 5 seasons, made playoffs 3 of them and won a Superbowl. How much better of results can you really hope for in 5 seasons with a starting QB that has never finished a season since his rookie year when I think even then he played with broken ribs (didn't play that well either) and a WR core nobody has ever heard of. They had long stretches of games where I don't think a single WR they had starting was even drafted? 

And not sure how much influence he had on the decision, but I'm sure he had some say in getting Jalen Hurts - who looks like a possible future league MVP the way he played in his limited time so far. I know that may seem like a stretch, but Hurts was phenomenal in those few starts, with exception of the last game when Pedersen put Sudfield out there, probably to intentionally lose the game and see what he had in a backup for next season. 


I don't get it. Was winning that last game really that important to the Eagles management? 

I don't understand why you guys are going full "no thanks", "I'll pass", etc on Pedersen?

....Are you suggesting that he assumed either Wentz or Hurts was going to be cut or traded?

If that's the case, my first interview question is "If I spot you a C and a T, can you spell CAT?"
