There's a lot of truth to that.   Not that I think he's overrated, but  I think it was either Caldwell or Bradley who said a few days ago that the presence of good alternatives down the draft board at the same position can devalue a player who would normally be taken at a high pick.   Teams say, for example, if there weren't a bunch of good WRs available in the 2nd round, then I would jump all over Watkins, but the fact is, even if I don't pick Watkins, I can still improve my team at WR later in the draft.   So I will go to another position instead and take my WR later, because so many good ones are available.   Supply and demand.
