It's a wrong notion for two reasons. The first is that teams with game manager QBs don't win in the playoffs. That's why the Bengals and texans have been so bad in the playoffs. The second is that Russell Wilson isn't a game manager, he's a playmaker.

 

Nothing in my point says the Jaguars have to draft a QB this year.

On the contrary, the notion is correct.  You build a complete team and add the franchise QB when he presents himself.  You can't manufacture one out of thin air.  You've brought yourself to water, but refusing to drink.  The teams who are not complete, yet have that superstar QB are perennial disappointments.  Sure, they make the playoffs but come up short.  Teams that are more complete are those who charge to the prize.  How many rings does Manning have?  Fewer than his less talented brother.  When was the last time Brady held the trophy?  The last time he had a more complete team around him.  You appear to see the need for competence at QB, but errantly discount what's needed around him.
