If I was accepting first round picks in trade, I would make them conditional first round picks.  I would stipulate that I would accept a top-15 pick, or if the pick falls later than that, I would get extra picks.  I say that because there's a lot of talk about various trade scenarios, involving a first round pick or picks, but there is so much difference between pick 5 and pick 25, it's not the same thing.

So, for example, if I was the Texans, I would say I would take the Bears' first round picks in 2021, 2022, and 2023, but if the first round pick in 2022 falls later than pick 15, I would specify an extra pick in 2022.  Same thing in 2023.  

There's so much difference between pick 5 and pick 25, that saying "first round pick" would be way too vague for me.

"I'll give you 3 Jalen Ramseys" is very different from saying "I'll give you 3 Tavin Bryans."
