Urban said he didn't want to sign guys he didn't get to meet in person or his coaches hadn't coached in the past. That is why he didn't go blindly after big names he didn't know anything about. This is why every guy we signed he either knew personally or was coached by one of his coaches in the past. He isn't going to throw money at a guy he doesn't know and trust.

I personally didn't hear him say this, but it is sound business. The rebuild effort underway is not easy, the results will be added to our new coach's current reputation. I am sure we have tried and missed on a few free agents. Specifically those that look at the Jags and see the last 10 years record and want no part of a rebuild process based on a rookie QB and coach that have never been in the NFL.  The really good ones will get great money from a lot of teams, that is the the way it works.  As for what our strategy is, none of us actually know what it is and are guessing. Fun way to spend the off season isn't it?
