I will admit that I am using progressive in a different way than I normally do. There is the way that it was designed to be used, of which I feel like The Rising hits it pretty much on the head, and there's the way it's being actively used, which is Marxism dressed up in progressive clothing. I guess if I had to make a differentiation, I would call the Rising moderate progressives. They want change in the form of socialized programs in America, but without dismantling the Constitution or implementing critical theory to do so. Radical progressives want to see it all dismantled.
I guess you could call Bernie a centrist if you had communism on the far left and social democrats on the far right. But that would be stupid to think of American politics in that manner. |
