Quote:I was talking about the Texans, not us. Im saying if Teddy is the QB some people on here think, wouldnt all the teams that want a qb want him and shouldnt the Texans act like he is the guy they really want to see who will offer the most picks for him? He just might not be the qb or prospect some think or they would be using him for bait. Just dont seem teams are in love with Teddy or they would be throwing is name out there as the number one pick
I think you're trying to convince yourself that Teddy isn't a good pick by jumping through hoops in your own head.
Teddy is a good QB, they don't consider him Luck, but the ONLY "big" knock against him so far is his weight. You hear the Texans talk about QBs, they mention the top 3 guys. Jags, same story. Raiders, same story. Browns, same story, so on and so fourth.
The Texans are in a strange spot because they both need a DE and a QB, just like the Jags. Not stating Teddy is there guy straight off the bat isn't something that is too surprising. When Carolina drafted Cam Newton in 2011 the team didn't really start to declare him their guy until about 2 weeks until the draft. Was that a condemnation of Cam Newton? Certainly not. Their were questions about Newton headed into the draft, and there was this Blaine Gabbert guy the media kept trying to convince us could be better than Cam Newton.
Now we're here in 2014, and the whole media is trying to convince us that this Blake Bortles kid is the real deal. And what are their knocks against Teddy? He's too small, but they're praising a guy inches shorter than him and 20 pounds lighter? What! Teddy is exciting on the field, he wins football games, and he's the most fundamentally sound QB mechanically and mentally in this draft. The problem is Cool Hand Luke Teddy Bridgewater doesn't tune in TV sets on SportsCenter. Johnny Jackwagon and his fantastical antics does though! And Johnny he's soooooo flashy, he played in the SEC. Remember how exciting the SEC is? SportsCenter thought they were so exciting that they spent actual TV time to air every single SEC football stadium covered in snow back in January, because nothing says dominance like snow on SEC football fields.
I'm just done with this circus. Teddy is the best QB right now, between the top 3 Bortles MIGHT be able to say he has Teddy's talent "ceiling." If you're the Jaguars and you don't take Teddy B you have to take Clowney. There is no way I'd risk this draft on a guy like Manziel who is more than likely an average QB at best in the NFL at this point, or you take Bortles and hope throwing him in earlier than he was ready doesn't hurt him in the long run.
Keep making excuses about how no one is talking about him. May be he needs to rob a an old lady, or scramble wildly around on his Pro-Day, or start talking trash like a high schooler to get some "buzz" going for him. At the end of the day, on the football field Teddy is the better QB in the NFL, a great leader in the huddle, and the calm in the middle of the storm. Give me that guy over 20-questions need-to-be-answered-about-him Johnny Football.
