Well since profit is evil we should balance the labor costs to create just a 0.025% profit margin for the despicable capitalists who exploit the labor of the proletariat. Then we can tax that 95% to make them pay their fair share.

One of the most annoying things to me is the "pay them more" shell argument. When challenged, the typical person will say "more" is $15 an hour, but nobody can explain how they arrived at that number. 

The outcome of this employee shortage will likely include people making more money in service level jobs, but businesses will just pass that cost on to customers, and guess what the people now making more money are....that's right, customers of other businesses. 

Inflation and cost of living increases are a natural part of the economy. It isn't rocket surgery.
