I never said anything about a minimum wage. I am not for a minimum wage but I am for paying people better. If you don't have employees it is your own fault. Make your job more attractive. Whether it be better pay, better benefits or just be a better place to work. These companies need to stop making excuses

Wow! You make it sound so easy!! Except it’s pretty much everywhere.  It’s not just one industry.   Since you’ve got it all figured out, please help me with my dilemma.  I’ve been hiring at 15/hr before it was “cool”. That’s for someone with no experience.  I’ve got guys making 20 or more per.  But they’re very much worth it.  I do lawn maintenance. How do I sell my company over Walmart and restaurants starting at the same pay? (They too are having issues hiring people in case you didn’t know)  I at least offer 10 paid weeks off in the winter.  30-40k+/yr and we only work 42 weeks! Beat that Walmart, or any other “minimum wage” job.   If we happen to work on those off weeks, I gladly pay the guys extra! We’ve been looking for at least one, preferably 2 guys, for the last 8 or so months.  Maybe longer.  I try to hire decent people.  But perhaps, in your eyes we’re all garbage.  Not gonna lie, I may have a guy or two that’ll accept that monicker as not to go to jail/prison vs beating the [BLEEP] out of you for calling them that.   My record is clean.  I’ll do a day or so in county to stick up for them.     Should I start at 20(40k a year?) and have my rock stars be paid at 25-30/ hour??  We mow mostly 1/4-1/3 acre postage stamp homes.  How much would a guy like yourself pay to have his lawn cut?  Shall I charge 70 or 85 per cut? Oh, you need hedges? Lets call it 100/cut!  I’m fairly certain no one here would pay those prices no matter how good the service/customer relations are.  Also, I’m fairly certain you don’t even have to worry about getting “your” grass cut.  Something tells me you’re the unemployed guy living off the hand outs. Otherwise you wouldn’t be such an advocate for having higher wages.  Glad you feel it’s so easy while small businesses everywhere are busting their [BLEEP] to make everyone happy with what they have to work with.  Hopefully not too many of them sell out or go under because of the lazies.
