Way too Early rookie assessments

ETN is wasn't excited about at first because I thought we would go in anothe rdirection but I always loved the player. He is going to make Urban and Baalke look like a pair of geniuses.
I didn't liek the Campbell pick because I didn't think we needed a CB. So far, this is looking like a really smart pick because not only is he doing well in camp, CJ can't get off the sidelines.
I didn't know much bout Little other than he hadn't played in almost two years. But when he played, he was dominant. So far he has shown he has the potential to be our Franchise tackle we have desperately needed.
I am super excited about Ciso. He is a true ball hawking safety and we haven't had anyone like him in  a long time. If he stays healthy, I predict he will lead the Jags in Ints this year.
Didn't and still don't know much about Smith. I have nothing for ya.
I love the Tufele pick. I love Samoan linemen. Always have. They always just seem to be great or at worst decent linemen. Safest pick outside of Lawrence and ETN imo.
I was not excited about the Ferrell pick as he didn't catch much and college and is known as a "blocking" TE. If he can develope into a pass catcher, then he will be worth this pick.
I knew nothing about Camp but when I saw his measuables and his tape, I couldn't believe he lasted as long as he did. He has flashed in camp and I expect him to make the team.

The more I thought about it, the more didn't mind what Meyer and Co. were doing at the TE position...

There are about 4 or 5 unicorn TEs in the league that represent receiving matchup problems whenever they step on the field.  It also almost always takes 2-3 years in the NFL for a receiving tight end to show whether or not he's any good.  By taking the tight end that excels at blocking, rather than hoping to catch a unicorn, at least there's a good chance Farrell won't be completely useless for a year or more while we wait to find out if he's even worthy of a roster spot.
Any receptions we get from Manhertz and Farrell will be gravy, while our mis-matches in the passing game will come from the wide receiver and running back groups.  And who knows, maybe one of them will develop into a good pass catcher given the opportunity.
