Impressions From The Dolphins Game

But for him lacking the awareness and touching him down, the Jaguars can't call time out, and the game goes into overtime. Actually, Bevell and Schottenheimer should get credit for that play call. They've been getting hammered all year for poor play calling, and deservedly so. But considering we had timeouts remaining, that quick slant to get us into FG range...throwing it close to the defender, was brilliant! The rules actually state that if a player intentionally goes down, the play is dead so the Jags could have called the timeout, provided the Ref blew the whistle calling the play dead in time. I'm not certain if that was a 2020 rule change or a 2021 rule change but I heard it back a few weeks ago while watching another game. |
