It all depends on the official and the whistle, though.

It's not like the receiver caught the ball and took a knee. He curled into a ball as he caught the pass, but if untouched could have just as easily jumped up and tried to make it to the EZ. Could you imagine if they started blowing any play dead where the untouched receiver landed in a fetal position? No thanks.
