People are often hesitant to change their opinion. They want to be right and refuse to do so even when the evidence warrants it. Which can be true of not only those who hoped Lawrence would be the Jags' savior but also those who said he was an overrated prospect from the beginning. And are now gloating so they can say they're right.
Realistically I think it's too early to tell one way or another. He does seem to have some accuracy issues at times and as mentioned above it looks like it occurs mostly when he doesnt get his feet set. Maybe he is one of those guys that needs that in order to throw an accurate ball. And he'll never attain that elite status because he can't throw off balance as effectively as needed. But sometimes it's hard to tell. On that last 4 plays of the game, was Oshaun supposed to sit down the way the announcer thought? Was Shenault supposed to turn around at the sticks instead of running 5 yards beyond and then turning around? Were those miscommunications or were they just bad throws? Maybe it's just a repetition and practice issue. Seems hard to believe he can throws darts 25 yards down the field between defenders but is then incapable of consistently hitting a guy running a 5 yard out. I'm sure everyone is disappointed that we haven't seen more. Obviously the receiving talent isn't great. The playcalling is head scratching at times. And those things only exacerbate the issue when Lawrence gets a little wild at times. But I think it's too already gloat and to define his future is just chest beating by those who want to be right. The talent is obviously there. Personally I think it's far too early to write him off as just an average QB. ________________________________________________ Scouting well is all that matters.
