If they were still “searching”, why aren’t there interviews happening right now?

They have requested permission to interview Kevin O'Connell.  I think Byron was their first choice, but didn't anticipate him making an ultimatum over the GM.    Eberflus and Hackett were Plan B and Plan C, but both of them got hired by other teams.  I don't think they had a Plan D, so they had to go back to the drawing board and have been spending their time trying to figure out who to interview next.
