Now this is all starting to make some sense. Possible sequence of events:
Shad kicks off the search by telling agents over a month ago that the coach would decide Baalke’s fate. By the time Shad was ready to hire Byron, Shad felt it was too late in the FA/draft process to fire Baalke. Leftwich refused to take the job if Baalke wasn’t out of the building. Someone comes up with this latest proposed structure where Baalke can stay through the draft, and the Caldwell/Pederson alliance can keep the snake in in the basket until then. Like I said, it makes sense on a lot of levels and ties together all of these scraps of information we’ve been getting. I guess we’ll know soon enough if it’s true. |
