We weren't even in consideration for the Top Pick until the Jets won in Week 15. That week our game was at 1:00 PM while the Jets game didn't even start until our game was over. And they were playing the Rams, which nobody expected them to beat. So there were only two weeks for which he could even pay them to tank to get Lawrence. And even THEN the Jets won twice in a row, which meant in week 17 it didn't matter if we won or not. We had it clenched. SO he could've only paid them to tank one game... against a Chicago team that made the playoffs. No tank necessary.

And even if it were true, coming out about it after being fired signals to every other owner in the league to never hire Trent Baalke at ANY position. Also let's be honest, Caldwell and Marrone would've had to be in on it as well, and for some reason... they just didn't come out about it after being fired.
