At this point, it's a no-win.

If it's Byron, fans may be happy but Shad will resent feeling that his hand was forced and question whether he gave his coach too much influence, even if it works. If it doesn't, both coach and GM will probably be let go way before they have a chance to build in their mold.

If it's Pederson, Baalke is likely still around. If it doesn't work, how long will fans continue to grasp to "BuT hE wOn A sUpErB oWl" before they sour on him? Does Khan dismiss Baalke, or Pederson? I'm afraid to find out. If it works, we're stuck with Baalke, and Khan will have ammo to dismiss media, fanbase, or team blowback on hirings and firings. If Baalke and Pederson clash, does he repeat his end days in Philly? To what lengths does Baalke go to save his skin if the ship isn't righted?

If it's Bevell, or anyone else for that matter, the clown masks won't go away. Fans will be upset with every penalty, incompletion, or failed play. There will be no patience, and the fans will be in direct opposition to everyone from the coaches upward, including the owner. Lack of fan support might lead to horrible downstream impacts.

Shad has really messed this up. Bad.
