Why or why not?  If done right, this draft can provide the talent to be a competitive, respectable team for the first time in a while.

Are you excited becuse, like a kid approaching Christmas, it's customary, almost instinctive for you to be excited this time of year? I'm sure that's part of it.  But more so it is the only time of year where we can have legitimate hope for most of the past 15 or so years.

Are you excited to see how Pederson will build the team?  Yes!  I have a high level of confidence in Doug making this a perennially competitive team.

Are you excited to see the new Jaguars?  Yes!

Are you simply excited for the last big booster shot of football talk until a long dry spell without football talk?  Don't remind me of the dry spell.  Worst sports time of the year.

If you are less excited than usual, why?  n/a

Is Baalke's continued presence dampening your enthusiasm?  Not like I thought it would.  I was definitely one of the torch and pitchfork crowd.  But paired with a coach whose voice cannot be diminished, I think his personnel selection ability will be mostly fine.  He had a mostly good free agency, except for not trying hard enough to sign Cooper.  And I don't see him getting in on the Deebo sweepstakes. As long as he doesn't fulfill the ACL injury meme, I think he will do fine.  I don't quite trust him yet.  But I don't hate him, either.

Have the Jaguars' long history of draft day ineptitude finally worn you down? No.  Different GM, different choices.  GMs have to be careful to not let their ego get in the way of making good choices.  You're not smarter than all the other GMs.  You're not that clever boy who sees diamonds where everyone else sees lumps of coal.

Is the lack of a dominant franchise caliber guy at the top of the draft getting you down, because either the Jaguars can't add them to their own roster, or can't command a huge package of picks in a trade back from #1 overall?  I regret that, sure.  But I'm not letting it me get me down.  You have to pick in the draft you have, not an idealized draft you don't have.

To be honest, I've experienced all of these things at various points this week.
