I agree.
The most a place like Target should do is insist on concealed rather than open carry.  They shouldn't be worrying themselves about if I have something that I'm supposed to be hiding from them anyways.
But a school, the strategy is a bit different because a school is not supposed to be easy to walk in and out of the way a retail store is.  A school should operate more on the courthouse theory.  There should be armed security there, and those guys should be brave enough to intervene and pursue.
