I agree with you that we haven't done a lot to help him in terms of system and where we've lined him up but for me, the 1st round pick label is what causes a lot of the criticism.

I agree on the level of expectation and and round where they were drafted.

But Ngakoue vs Chaisson is wierd comparison. 

Ngakoue had one 1 major skill where he he near elite -- pass rushing. But he is is average or below average everything else. He was perfectly cast on the early Jags teams, and consistently fills needs on other teams when he fills that sole need. But there is a reason he is already on his 4th team.

Chaisson was best suited for a jack-of-trades position on a 3-4 defense that valued his versatility and coached up his ceiling, basically the Patriots style defenses of a few years ago. Instead he was drafted to a team that wanted to turn him into a pash rusher, and did a horrible job trying to develop that skill.

I will grant you that he takes some blame for development having had 2 off seasons to work on skills and not showing anything yet. But in a different multiverse, he is a key starter for a different team.

I get you and I like you say we tried to use him as a pass rusher in the 3-4 which a lot of the time became  5-2 as we struggled stopping the run and that didn't seem a strength of his. I've not really seen enough from him to know if he could be a coverage guy at LB but with the talent we had at that spot and coaches never trying him there is a worry. 

But I definitely feel we've had some players we have let down with how dysfunctional and ever changing we have been the last few years and not helped take those steps to developing their talent.
