I think two things need to happen regarding pass rushers and QB's. Either, the referee blows the whistle instantly when a defender wraps him up and calls it a sack on the spot (then, we can start to hear grumbling about how that effects players like Wilson, Mahomes, Allen & Jackson since they're tough to bring down and can escape) or, just let them start playing football again. 

I shouldn't have to pull my body weight off of you at full force. I am doing my [BLEEP] job as a pass rusher. If you can't handle me? You need to add a chip block my way, pull a guard my way or have your QB roll the [BLEEP] away from me then. 

It's bad enough defenders in the secondary get very little wiggle room now with contact downfield. Telling a pass rusher to NOT do his job is just foolish IMHO. Lageman made a good point too the other day. If I now have to focus on, all within 5 seconds of, beat my block, exhaust my strength, energy and hustle to the QB and then when I finally get there? I now have to consider his safety over mine? Meaning, I have to softly tackle this football player while breaking my own weight to avoid landing on him, which in turn? May very well cost me an injury if I land on my wrist or forearm or shoulder awkwardly.

It’s just the over reaction to Tua.  This will blow over.  They’ll be neutering the game if they keep turning big defensive plays into penalties and automatic first downs.  Concussions are an inherent risk of tackle football.  They know this.

I’d bet the league is privately inserting themselves into the decision on when Tua plays again.  Would be a catastrophe for the league if he comes back and is concussed again shortly after.

Whether it blows over or not, both calls this weekend were poop. I'm ok with the league emphasizing and advising refs when in doubt, toss the flag, but in exchange for such lenience, teams should be able to challenge the call. For example, Jones forced a fumble and was in the process of gaining possession of the ball. He wasn't going to surrender the ball to brace himself, nor should he be expected to do so. From the ref's view behind the play or during real time, that detail may not be easy to discern.
