For example that last touchdown maybe a darn near walk in and not in need of such a dramatic catch if he hits the uncovered flat route as mentioned in the video.. but it was a hell of a throw that he throws with great anticipation and ball placement.
I wonder if we see him start to take some more checks as the year goes on or if that is going to be the final thing to come in his development? When you have so much arm talent it must be difficult to settle for those underneath routes when you feel like you can complete those tight window balls down the field. And he did a bunch in the last game. I would venture to say although not certain that a large portion of games where we go three and out or struggle to move the ball for a chunk of the game there is probably an easier throw to be had somewhere.
But hey I absolutely love where he is right now… I think we have a really really good one who is going to continue to show big things and give us a chance to win ball games in the end. And who has the work ethic and smarts to keep getting better and better .

No, on the last TD, if he hits the underneath route and the receiver is tackled in bounds, the clock runs out. If he misses the throw to Marvin Jones, or if Jones was ruled out of bounds, Trevor still has 14 seconds left and he can get 3 more plays off in that time span. So the throw to Marvin Jones was the most risk-free of all the opportunities he had at the time. With 14 seconds left, and no timeouts, he absolutely had to go to the end zone.
By the way, one of the really great things about that play was that we didn't spike the ball to stop the clock. We lined up and ran a play without letting the Ravens' defense regroup. That's a little added bit of brilliance.
And damn, if next year we get a downfield threat who can win 50-50 balls, guys will be open all over the field.
They actually did it twice during that drive if I remember correctly. I always wondered the wisdom of spiking the ball to stop the clock unless maybe it's to stop it for the last play of the game... I mean, you have to line up to snap the ball anyway, so why not have a play in the bag and run it? Just have to make sure it's a sideline route, and if it's not there right away, just throw it out of bounds. And yeah, there's always a real chance you catch the defense a bit out of breath.
The thing I think I like the most about that drive is that the team didn't look the slightest bit frantic out there - it felt things worked just like they were supposed to instead of looking like they got lucky. Good stuff.
