We were always brought to the room and paddled in front of the class. My 4th grade teacher was a tiny lady so she always outsourced it to her husband the Assistant Principal. He's the only one that ever really hurt, I think he was more mad at her for making him do it than us for anything we did wrong. The other one that wasn't good was when they did collar checks for our hair length. Third warning that it was too long was 3 swats by the Principal right there on the sidewalk outside the class room. He swung hard but there wasn't any emotion behind it like the VP had.
