Trump has broken the law repeatedly. 
1. His retaining of records violates US code, but that portion of the US code does not have criminal penalties.
2. His various applications for loans violate NY state code, but that will only result in cancelation of privileges and fines.
3. His payments to Stormy Daniels violated campaign finance law, but that also is likely to result only in fines.
4. His speech on January 6 2021 violated the insurrection act.  That is the only place where any real action is. I think Pelosi and Shumer had the power per the 14th amendment to pass a resolution finding that he engaged in insurrection, but they deferred that to DoJ.  DoJ is still thinking about it.  That's where all the action is, because that's how he could end up in jail or without any ability to run for office or hold office.  
Everything else is sideshow.
