Should we assume that them not addressing Cam’s deal indicates he is gone after this season?  Wouldn’t it be worse to send Cams dollars into the future if he isn’t on the team?

No, it wouldn't be worse, because unused cap space can be carried forward to the next season.  So if they move some of Cam's cap hit to next year, and don't use that space, it just zeroes out.

For example, if they create $10 million in cap space this year, by moving $10 million in cap hit to next year, and they don't use that space, they carry forward the $10 million in cap space and use it against the $10 million in cap hit and it's all zeroed out.  

So it has nothing to do with whether Cam is on the team next year or not.  It just has to do with whether they use the space they created.
