I think a couple vet stopgaps on one-year deals could remedy this problem:  

• E.g., Edge Ngakoue/Houston (no to out-of-gas Clark) and CB Rock Ya-Sin (move Williams back inside if Herndon/rookie struggles in preseason)
  
• Cam could play LG after his suspension if Bartch/rookie struggles in first few games 
  

Baalke obviously mis-judged how much it would take to move up! Instead of possibly adding Keion White via trading-up in round 2 and Clark Phillips in round 4, the team must now likely over-pay free agents at these 2 positions. He has no choice, however, and better not try to get too cute or he'll miss out again and the team will be left with Herndon at nickel and an insufficient pass rush.
