Some will say they liked his blocking.  However, blocking fullbacks are a dime a dozen.  Even back then, a blocking fullback was something you maybe draft in a late round but wasn't uncommon for teams just to use a UDFA.  We took Greg Jones in the second round.  Some will say that our running game would have suffered without him, but would it?  Ask yourself "what happened the year he was injured?"  They replaced Greg Jones with a UDFA in his second year.  Did the running game suffer?  No.  In fact, the Jaguars rushed for more yards that year than any year with a healthy Greg Jones.  He may be the most overrated Jaguars of all time.

• He lead blocked for Freddy for a good 5 years and threw some incredible blocks to spring big runs
  
• He blocked for MJD for several years, once again producing lots of big runs
  
• If you are a fan of Fred and MJD and don't appreciate Greg's contribution, you're missing the boat a bit
  
• He only switched to a primary lead blocking role after a knee injury early in his NFL stint effectively ended his career as a running fullback

Jones says he doesn't feel unlucky because of the knee injuries and has come to enjoy his role. He said he gets a lot of satisfaction out of helping Jones-Drew, who ranks second in the league in rushing, break a long run.
"When he makes a big run, I'm going to be one of the first guys to congratulate him," Jones said. "At the end of my career, don't talk about me. Talk about the runners I blocked for."
Jones-Drew calls Jones "hands down, the best fullback in the league. When he blocks, people move out of the way for him."
"Whoever Greg is supposed to block, they're going to get blocked," added offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter.
