TRUMP: Good for the GOP? Or, nah?

I believe everyone here would agree that a fact, by itself, doesn't always paint the whole picture. Yet, in politics, far too many of us are comfortable picking out snippets of information out of a line up and using it to support our beliefs. It really is interesting how much "belief" there is behind our arguments. I think we are all subject to illusory truth effect, but the left is particularly good at trotting this out in political discourse.

I think most conservatives here secretly blame Trump for not cleaning the swamp. The rabid supporters say there is nothing he could do, and there may be some truth to it. I honestly don't know how you find "qualified" experts who are not firmly entrenched in the establishment. Outsiders are rarely qualified. It's a lose-lose situation. Even still, Trump made that promise and didn't deliver. I don't have a problem blaming him for it.

Twisting and excluding facts is not a new problem.
It's why we have defense lawyers and juries.
We should try to withhold the worst judgement until things are heard in court, innocent until proven guilty, and only after you have the chance to present evidence from your side.
That's usually the rule, for ordinary people with ordinary roles in society.
But if we are going to elevate someone to a high role, it should be someone with no hint of wrongdoing, if such a person is available.  Otherwise, it should be the person with the least hint of wrongdoing.

And if one of the choices has been indicted by lawyers he himself appointed, there will be many better choices.
I applaud you for being able to blame Trump for his own failures, but you're still insisting that Christopher Wray has investigated and indicted Trump for partisan or otherwise corrupt reasons.  Here's the part I don't get: why would Wrsy do that? What could Trump do with another term as President, that you want him to do, but someone like Wray doesn't want him to do?
My fellow southpaw Mark Brunell will probably always be my favorite Jaguar.
