FYI, outliers, such as the one you reference, are typically discounted in scientific research.  Median and/or mean figures are considered far more accurate measurements of change.  I know it's somewhat more advanced than 2nd grade, but you should have learned about it in high school.

I did learn that in high school, also college, and guess what? The mean and median temperatures for the past year or past decade are all out of range high! Weird, right?

The hottest ever in terms of a metric in existence for less than 50 years. A metric built on over a dozen assumptions. Yeah, you can take that crap and toss it right out the window, lol.

That's fair.  Temperature measurement goes back about 150 years though, and we can estimate temperatures farther back than that by various means.  Most any way you slice it, we are currently at a record high.
