I used to go to county Republican party general meetings. At those meetings they would announce events and fundraising drives that were specific to Republican women and also black Republicans. The general group was asked to contribute money to specific subgroups so they could have their own smaller events for them and their friends. It was fine. But if some unscrupulous Democrat journalist heard about it, he may have tried to make a thing about it. And the county Republican party would have said, "we are sorry it came out that way" not "we are sorry for organizing our private event this way." There was a men's group and a Hispanic group as well. But not a whites only group. Are you saying there should have been one?
