Let's Talk About- Political Edition
|
The long and short of it is that she is a pawn in a much larger game. I am not accusing her specifically of corruption, although I think she has been corrupted. We the people are far too shortsighted in modern American politics, primarily because we are underinformed (especially those who think they are informed). We are being outmaneuvered by small contingent of truly powerful people who are comfortable making small, strategic moves in favor of long-term gains. Haley's policies will sound like a deviation from democratic policies, but, aside from short term relief, I believe the only policies that get passed will be those that continue to support entrenched bureaucrats, restrict freedom of information, and, ultimately, stifle free market competition in favor of well-established corporations.
A perfect example is her desire to remove anonymity from social media. Sounds great in the short term, but it will remove a level of dissent and allow for specific persecution of ideas. As to the free market, the game is played like this: When democrats are in power, the only laws that get passed put barriers of entry into the free market in the name of (x), and when republicans are in office, restrictions are removed that hinder corporate growth via employee protections and tax restrictions. While I think Haley COULD bring sanity back to politics for a few years, it will ultimately be a Presidency that continues to support the greed and corruption that is ruining America. Unless she's willing to tackle the establishment (which she's not), we are only delaying the inevitable. The masses really need to start figuring out that we the people have way more in common with each other than we do with our mainstream political candidates. |
