It has to be a collaboration to some extent. I keep saying that now to be fair to Baalke. The coaching staff and scouting department have to work together, look at the roster position-by-position and then come to conclusions which I would imagine involve a "Yay" or "Nay" or "Pass" or "Fail" when creating a free agency wish list with targets and a draft board with prospects. 

So, I don't think we can put it ALL on Baalke. This coaching staff had to look at the roster and sign off on the following:

1. Offensive Lineman
2. Defensive Lineman
3. Wide Receiver Depth

Those have been the three glaring issues right now on this football team. They did very little, or, had very little success in adding anything impactful or tangible there to give us much hope this year or going into next year in my opinion.

Yeah, I think it was a collaboration with Doug and all the coaches.  I also think Baalke really let these Doug get who he wanted at the top of the draft for all the flack he took last year and if the players don't pan out, he can look at Khan and say see, that's not who i wanted.  Especially with the Strange pick, that was Doug 100% imo.  If it was just Baalke picking and he was taking a TE i think he would of taken Washington just by his draft history, just a guess though.  Do we really want Doug getting the guys he wants?  That's not his strong suit imo.  Jordan was the best basketball player ever and he took Kwame Brown over Pau Gasol.  We need to remember he was the coach when the Eagles took Reagor over Jefferson and I'm sure he had say in that pick.

It is the postional value.
The horrible askance treatment of positional value would somewhat negated if he picked guys that made impact in year one or two at the lesser positions he focused on - but he still royally screwed up the positional value.

#2 TEs and #3 RBs should never be taking precedent when your intent is too start Ben Bartch and Luke Fortner.

Even if you have All Pros at C and G you shouldn't take a 2nd or 3rd string TE in the 2nd and a 3rd string RB in the 3rd.  That should be followed behind that sentence.   With that said, I think our staff felt Strange is a number 1 TE and Bigsby was a number 1 RB, that's why they took them.  It just shows you the quality of their Bigboard.
