At the risk of repeating myself 5 times on this, Scherff is still an above average pass protector but has fallen off tremendously in the run game unless he's pulling outside and throwing a block downfield. 

Couple that with his injury propensity and age and you've got a guy probably not worth the cap hit. 

An upgrade would be ideal - but they have to decide exactly how many guys they can replace up front in one offseason. If he stays - it's probably because they are making moves at C,LG and rethinking LT.
