One needs to have an understanding to the inner workings of a PGA tour event and the right away courtesy cars have to common traffic to fully assess the situation. Guessing it wss an honest mistake.

IMO, the world #1 deserves the benefit of the doubt here and an apology from the mayor and even the governor of KY.

Which is precisely what it sounded like from all that witnessed it.  He thought he was doing as directed.  As a matter of fact other golfers had done exactly the same thing.  All witnesses said that he fully cooperated with the officer.  He ‘assaulted’ the officer by continuing to drive when the officer had his hands on the car.  And I would bet he wasn’t even aware the officer had his hands on the car.  One thing that you will hear from just about anyone that knows him is that Scheffler is a great golfer and an even better person.

But hey, believe what you want.  Makes for a better story the other way.
