With a Hall of Fame Left Tackle in Tony Boselli, Mark Brunell was sacked 50 times in 1996. The following seasons in 1997 and 1998, he was sacked 33 times and 28 times. During that 3 year span, Brunell was sacked 111 times with 57 passing TD and 36 ints.

Trevor Lawrence was sacked 32 times in 2021, 27 times in 2022, and 35 times in 2023. During that 3 year span, Lawrence was sacked 94 times with 58 passing TD and 39 ints. 

*Brunell also had Leon Searcy at Right Tackle and Dave Widell at Center during that 3 year span, and was special in all 3, and he was sacked 17 more times than Lawrence.

Yea Brunell was sacked a lot. However he was not pressured as much as TL. TL is more nimble at avoiding and gets the ball off a lot quicker. The biggest difference is that team could RUN the ball. Take a look at the run blocking in clips. The Jag o-line in the 90's made the other team feel the next week they had played the Jaguars the week before.
