It is not easy for a sharpshooter to shoot down a drone if the drone is doing evasive maneuvers.  Plus that lead has to land somewhere.

Yeah, probably not using actual bullets due to the potential collateral damage.  More likely something like plastic pellets.  It doesn't take much push to knock a drone out of the sky.  Either way, they could hit it and knock it out of the sky easier than you think while it is sitting still or moving in a straight line and if it's doing evasive maneuvers it's probably not much of a threat to the politician while that's going on.
