Because there was an active and televised threat to the VP and members of Congress' lives within minutes of Trump's words.
If Gass should apologize, Trump should apologize all the more.

I'm not asking for Gass to apologize.  He's apparently a very sick individual and does not deserve fame or fortune.  He should be cancelled and so should anyone that stands with him.  You're inferring Trump's intent because there were no vile verbal requests or otherwise made to attack or kill anyone.  Do you see the difference? 

This seems an awfully ridiculous hill to plant your flag on to defend.
