I'm watching the women's gymnastics team final I learned the name Alice is pronounced Ahleachay in Italian. The name Jade is pronounced Jagee. Ja is like Za as in Zaza Gabor and gee is like geez without the Z. I think that was Brazilian.

Love her, hate her or feel indifferent about her, Simone Biles is formidable when she's in her element and good mental health. Congratulations to the women's team for winning gold but even more awesome is the men won a team (bronze) medal for the first time since 2008.

Mountain biking is terrifying to watch, specifically when they're traversing rocky areas and such. I say this as someone who at the age of around 10 or so I witnessed my 8 year old sister break her arm in a bike crash right in front of me and gave me a fear of broken bones, but strangely enough not a fear of riding bikes. Skateboarding is also butt puckering to watch. Lol

The guy who won is also competes in cyclocross and in road racing and rode the Tour de France until he tested positive for and was pretty sick from Covid.
