This is an interesting topic as the Quarter Pounder with Cheese costs $14.49 in San Francisco (see menu link below - add $1 for Large).   If I recall correctly from back in my Pittsburgh days growing up in the early 80's I think the Quarter Pounder cost about $2.99

Personally, I think min wage should be county specific because SF, LA, and SD are super expensive areas to live but what the heck, perhaps someday I can retire from my stressful job and flip burgers for $30/hour ......  who am I trying to kid, they'd fire me for eating the food.
